Is Celery low FODMAP?
Moderate — depends on portion
FODMAP group: Polyols (sorbitol/mannitol)
Serving guidance
About 1/4 stalk is low-FODMAP; a whole stalk is high in mannitol.
Why
Celery is surprisingly high in the polyol mannitol, so only a small amount (about a quarter stalk) is low-FODMAP. Easy to overdo in salads and juices.
Low-FODMAP swaps
- A small amount of celery
- Cucumber
- Bell pepper
